In the shadow of the Black Hills’ might,

Lives Nick Hopson, a beacon of light.

A family man, above all things,

His love for them, his heartstrings sing.

With Chio, his Guatemalan bride,

Four children frolic by his side:

Lia, the eldest, so sharp and spry,

Jasper, Tiago, and Milo nearby.

Dodger, the Laberdoodle so grand,

Joins the games with this lively band.

A surgeon with hands both steady and skilled,

In robotic precision, his calling fulfilled.

From Army major to hometown pride,

His modesty cloaks his talents inside.

Soon, they’ll move to their wooded retreat,

Twelve acres of wonder beneath their feet.

A home they’ve built with love and care,

The Black Hills’ beauty forever to share.

On bikes, in kayaks, or hiking trails,

Through forests and rivers, their laughter sails.

Camping under the starry sky,

Their bond grows stronger as time goes by.

Nick, you’ve achieved so much, it’s true,

Yet humility shines through all you do.

At forty-one, you’re admired, adored,

By those who see the life you’ve scored.

So here’s to you, my son, my pride,

A steadfast rock, with heart open wide.

From Florida’s shores to South Dakota’s sun,

Happy birthday, Nick — you’re second to none!
